Today Stroud Town Council launched its Street Spaces consultation asking what we can do to make walking and cycling easier in the town centre.
The pandemic lockdowns gave people the chance to walk and cycle more, perhaps for the first time in a while. We're keen to hear your thoughts whether or not walking or cycling in the town centre is new to you or something you've always done. Which areas are the most difficult to negotiate on foot or bike? What could be done to improve the walking or cycling experience in the town? If you run a business in the town we'd also like to hear from you and have included a survey for businesses. Let us know so we can work up ideas for improvements.
Last year's Active Travel consultation provided insights into how people travelled into the town centre. This year the Street Spaces consultation is focussed on the town centre and how we could re-shape street spaces to facilitate walking and cycling. Tomorrow, Saturday 26th June , we're holding a pop-up event from 10am to 12 midday outside the Sub Rooms with our consultants, Streets Reimagined. Please come along and tell us your ideas for the future of walking and cycling in the town centre.
The consultation is open until Friday 9th July 2021.
